Homemade ice cream, smell of the rain, biking up mountains, lifting heavy things, dancing in the kitchen with a brownie-battered spatula. These are a few things that make my heart sing.
Why I do what I do?
I started my motherhood journey from an already-depleted state. Years of over-exercise and under-eating left me infertile and sick. (Read more about that journey HERE). Thankfully I was able to recover from this and get pregnant on my own, however, I wasn’t in a fully-nourished state when I got pregnant with my first baby.
Three pregnancies, years of breastfeeding, lack of sleep and the stress of motherhood took their toll on my already-compromised health. I’ve experienced firsthand what depletion can do in a body. My own health journey and experience with postnatal depletion inspired me to help other women who may be dealing with the same burnout that I experienced.
Postnatal depletion may be common and many of the symptoms normalized (ahem… “mom brain…” ) but it doesn’t have to be YOUR story.
